Job Description:
Short-Term/Contract Assignment in the Metro Atlanta Area.
13 week assignment with the possibility for extension.
Inpatient Services includes Med/Surg, IMCU and ICU.
FT day and night shifts available.
Premium Pay! POSITION AVAILABLE FOR MID-SEPTEMBER START.
Directs the care of the patient through the nursing process and through collaboration with the patient, their family and other health care professionals.
Provides leadership to non-licensed staff by setting an example of excellence.
Assesses the needs of the patient through a holistic approach on an ongoing basis.
Provides information to physicians and other health care professionals of any changes in patient condition.
Adjusts treatment based on multidisciplinary plan of care.
Plans, delivers, directs, coordinates and evaluates therapeutic interventions based on needs identified in the assessment process.
Documents interventions provided.
Supervises care delivery by unlicensed support staff.
Provides patient/family education (in regards to disease process, side effects of treatment and health promotion) as well as support and reassurance, ensuring an informed decision is being made regarding the individuals therapeutic plan and documents according to department standard.
Ensures compliance with hospital policies and accrediting agencies.
Participates in the development, review and updating of policies and procedures.
Actively participates in the Performance Improvement plan of the unit.
Obtains allergy information and takes care of the medication reconciliation with patient or family member, then communicates this to other providers.
Verifies and notes physician orders.
Provides safe delivery of prescribed medications and treatments, and evaluates the outcomes in a timely manner.
Knowledge and Skills Recent experience in ICU/Step down preferred.
Strong organization skills to coordinate patient care.
Excellent communication skills to support customer relations and communicate with other health care providers.
Ability to follow verbal instructions and read/comprehend written instructions.
Basic computer skills.
ONS chemotherapy/biotherapy provider preferred.
Knowledge of diagnostic tests and their effects on the patient.
Able to pass a rhythm recognition test and a critical care drug test with a 90% or better within 6months of ICU start date.
Key Position Qualifications Current Georgia State Registered Nurse License required BSN required or enrolled within 6 months of hire and BSN completed within three years from hire date.
